The Montreal “Jazz” Jams with Scott Cook will begin MONDAY JULY 6th

Rehearsals will take place Mondays, from 7-8:45pm & from 9-10:45
• THE SESSION WILL CONCLUDE WITH A LIVE RECITAL FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 24TH •

REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE**
Intermediate level (this session is not open to beginner-level players)
A working knowledge of your instrument (this includes knowledge of your entire fretboard)
Able to play 7th chords (including Major and minor 7th)
Knowledge of major and minor scales and arpeggios, and a willingness to improvise
A basic ability to read music notation is a strong asset
Bassists: a basic understanding of walking bass lines is a strong asset
Drummers: able to keep time and play softy; understand "swing" feel

** This session is designed as an introduction to jazz, and so it is not necessary that you have played jazz before.
However, you must meet the minimum requirements in order to participate.
